Trudy Garrett

Trudy Darlene Brown Garrett, age 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 28, 2024. Trudy was born in New York City on August 19, 1956 to Henry Wright and Lulamae Brown-Carter. She was educated by the NYC public school system and graduated from Louis D. Brandeis High School. In December 1972,

Trudy gave birth to her first son, Kerry L. Brown. A couple of years later she met Calvin Brown in NYC. They moved to Ridgeland, SC where they were married. From this union they had three children: Calvin Brown, Tequila King-Jones, and Melissa King. Trudy and Calvin eventually divorced and Trudy later married Steve Garrett. From their union, they had one child, Chemir Garrett.

Trudy was a vibrant and creative person who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for arts and crafts, cooking and cleaning as well as working on new projects and bringing beauty into the world with her hand. She enjoyed television and watching movies. Above all she loved to have a good time enjoying life, spending time with family and friends. She had an amazing relationship with the women of Robertsville Senior Center. Her cheerful spirit and love for life were truly infectious.
