Valerie Bollinne Smith

Valerie Bollinne Smith, 90, widow of Connie L. Smith, Jr., died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Ridgeland Nursing Center in Ridgeland, SC. She was born in Liege, Belgium on February 17, 1924 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bollinne. She was a Food Preparer who worked in both the health care industry and school systems. She is survived by her son, Morris L. Smith of Grays, SC; two daughters in law, Maudette Smith of Grays, SC and Josie Smith of Estill, SC; sister in law, Elsie Holsopple of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Dennis Smith, Jr. (Sheila), Bryan W. Smith, Joseph Rodney Smith, Susan Scott (Mike), Rodney Charles Smith (Jennifer), Amanda Dempsey (Charles), Sammy Smith and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Jacques C. Smith, Dennis A. Smith, Sr. and Armand Smith; brother, Alphonse Bollinne and sister, Denise Bollinne. Graveside services will be held beginning 11:00 am, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Grimes Cemetery in Grays, SC. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Ave., Ridgeland, SC. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
