Vera Stroup Ulmer

Vera Ulmer, 94 of Bluffton, SC and widow of Alan A. Ulmer Sr. passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Bloom at Bluffton. She was born January 8, 1919 to the late Charles Alexander and Bertha Merrill Stroup. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Montreat College and taught at Crossnore School in North Carolina. She was an active member of the Bluffton United Methodist Church; a former choir member, Sunday School teacher and youth leader. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She was a former cub scout den mother. She is survived by her sons, Alan A. Ulmer Jr. (Jackie), C. A. "˜Alex' Ulmer (Cathie) and Hugh M. Ulmer all of Bluffton, SC; one daughter, Elizabeth U. Duncan (Larry) of Bluffton, SC; one sister, Bernice Stroup Lake of Summerville, SC 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Vivian Brundage and Mary Lou Ulmer. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in the Bluffton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Vera Ulmer to the Bluffton United Methodist Church, P.O.
