Vernon Uteal Orr

Vernon Uteal Orr, son of the late Moses and Francena Orr, was born February 03, 1950 in Ridgeland, SC. He entered peacefully into eternal rest on May 07, 2015 at Hampton Regional Medical Center after a motorcycle accident. He was the youngest of nine children, six of which preceded him in death. Vernon was educated in the Jasper County Public School system. He was self employed doing what he loved, which was home improvement. His favorite hobbies were gardening, which he shared with the community, fishing and cooking. Vernon was a member of Antioch Baptist church for many years. Vernon leaves to mourn, three sons, Vernell Orr, Joshua Orr and Dervon Jones; two sisters, Bertie M. Cook and Dorothy Jenkins; three brother in laws, one sister in law, one Aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; A devoted and loving friend, Vanessa Jones, who was by his side until the end. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church in Pineland, SC with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Saul's Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Ave., Ridgeland, SCFuneral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church in Pineland, SC with burial in the church cemetery.
