Vernon G. Verstraete

Vernon G. Verstraete, age 85, of Bluffton, SC died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Mr. Verstraete was born on January 30, 1932 in Newark, NJ, the son of the late Jessica and Theodore Verstraete. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired as a Manager from Universal Engineering Co. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Verstraete; children, Karen Collins, Roy Verstraete, and Susan Bernsten; brother, Theodore Verstraete; sister, Carol Kappeler; and grandchildren, Daniel Ryan Collins and Emma Bernsten. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to any charity of choice.
