Victoria C. Hucker

June 25, 1948 — September 26, 2023

Victoria C. Hucker, 75, of Bluffton, S.C., passed away, in to the loving arms of the Lord, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Victoria, affectionately called “Vickie”, was born June 25, 1948, in Columbia, S.C., to Norman and Minnie Ruth Compton.

She was married to the love of her life, Roger Hucker, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage, three daughters and four grandchildren. Roger and Vickie spent the majority of their marriage in Landenberg, PA and were members of Cedars Church of Christ. Vickie loved serving God and inside those walls, she was blessed with friends who became family and who she missed dearly after she and Roger moved to Bluffton.

Vickie was blessed to spend her life raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. She immersed herself in supporting the hobbies of her children and being their biggest cheerleader. Tabitha and Vickie share a passion for crafting and enjoyed working together on projects. Throughout Carrie and Abigail’s childhood, you could find Vickie at the ice skating rink, laughing with her fellow skating moms or at Freedom Hills, supporting Abigail with her horseback riding. As the kids grew, Vickie and Roger found their joy in supporting Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program, which provides services to individuals with disabilities, Paws for Life, a no-kill animal shelter and Fair Hill International, where you could find her riding around with Roger, making sure the electrical ran smoothly for the event.

In retirement, she and Roger spent their time traveling the world together and spending time with their grandchildren.

Vickie leaves behind her husband, Roger Hucker, daughters, Tabitha Grooms (Everett, deceased), Carrie Hucker Jaumann (Doug), and Abigail Hucker. She has four beautiful grandchildren, Samantha and Balin Devore and Nora and Otto Jaumann. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Lillian, sisters, Norma Ruth Leadingham and Dannell Stefanick, sister-in-law, Cheryl Garcia (Richard) and brother-in-law, Steve Hucker (Carol). She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Compton Jr.

Services will be held at Hilton Head Church of Christ, on Saturday, October 7th at 2:00pm. Please join the family in the fellowship hall following the service, for desserts. Please bring all of your best memories of Vickie.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program, PO Box 222 Port Deposit, MD 21904. All funds donated will be used to build a playground in honor of both Roger and Vickie and their loving support of the program. Vickie was also passionate about animals and a supporter of Paws for Life. Please consider keeping her memory alive by saving a life or making a donation in her memory.
