Vincent Foreman Dean

Vincent Foreman Dean, 93, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Estill, S.C. Mr. Dean was born October 11, 1919 in Ridgeland, S.C. to the late Lucious and Lillian Ida Malphrus Dean. Mr. Dean served in the US Army during WWII from 1941 until 1945 and received a purple heart while serving. He retired from Brays Island Plantation and was a long time member of Coosawhatchie Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Dean of Grays, S.C.; five children, Richard (Laura) Dean of Sheldon, S.C.; Dot (Raymond) Freeman of Hampton, S.C.; Bruce (Rose) Dean of Sheldon, S.C.; Wanda (Ron) Parnell of California; Randy (Susan) Dean of Hillsborough, N.C.; stepdaughters, Joyce Burnett of Ridgeland, SC; Judy (Bob) Mitchum of Greenwood, SC; Myra (Freddie) Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC; stepson, Ralph Smith of Grays, SC; grandchildren, Ray (Michelle) Freeman of Varnville, S.C.; Tina (Charlie) Boyles of Hampton, S.C.; Rita (Keith) Horton of Ridgeland, S.C.; Melissa Dean of Ladson, S.C.; Debra (Chris) Gillispie of Summerville, S.C.; Rachel (David) Crosson of Beaufort, S.C.; Bryan (Christy) Freeman of Hampton, S.C.; Mario Dean of Columbia, S.C.; Vince (Laura) Dean of Beaufort, S.C.; Mark Dean of Columbia, S.C. and numerous great and great, great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Brabham Dean of 60 years. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Coosawhatchie Baptist Church with burial in Great Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland.
