Virginia Mitchell Byrd

PEACHTREE CITY, GA Virginia Mitchell Byrd, age 87, most recently of Cape Coral, FL, died July 13, 2011 at Southland Health and Rehabilitation in Peachtree City, GA, where she spent her final months kindly cared for by the staff and visited frequently by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Virginia was born May 15, 1924 in Nevils, GA, to the late Eva (Lewis) and Quay Mitchell. After growing up in the country, she thoroughly enjoyed moving to Savannah, GA, as a young adult. Savannah was thereafter her home town, though during her life she resided in Madrid, Spain; Monrovia, Liberia; Santiago, Chile; Lagos, Nigeria; Annapolis, Bowie, and Crofton, MD; Charleston and Columbia, SC; and Fayetteville and St. Mary
