Wanda Faye Woods Smith, wife of Wayne Smith, 61, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC. Wanda was a 1970 graduate of Ridgeland High School and went on to graduate summa cum laude from Limestone College. Wanda worked at Thomas Heyward Academy for over thirty years and retired as a guidance counselor in 2013. She was a member of the Rotary Club and Eastern Star. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She was born in Hampton, SC on September 15, 1952 to the late Charlie and Ethel Woods. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne C. Smith; son Kevin Wayne Smith and his wife Janna of Jacksonville, FL; son Trenton Elias Smith and his wife Kimberly of Pineland, SC; daughter Cynara Nicole Smith Love and her husband Matt of Grays, SC; sister Valeria Woods Tuten; grandchildren, Liliana Smith, Avery Smith, Errolyn Smith, and Donna Love. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph Woods and sister, Dorothy Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Grays, SC with burial at Grimes Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the hour of the service at the church. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 4611 Beaver Dam Road, Ridgeland, SC 29936 or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas TX 75265-0309. Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Grays, SC with burial at Grimes Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the hour of the service at the church.
