​Wayne Alvernor Smith

Wayne Alvernor Smith, 59, of Branchville, SC, husband of Tselane O’Quinn Smith, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, SC.

Mr. Smith was born July 4, 1958 in Jesup, GA to Gladys Nelms Smith Jones and the late Alvernor Smith. He was a manager and consultant for Southeast Biomass. He attended Coosawhatchie Baptist Church and loved turkey hunting, eating blue crabs, and sheepshead fishing.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Gladys Nelms Smith Jones and step-father, Hugh Jones of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Elizabeth Colby Smith of Ridgeland, SC; and sisters, Rhonda Malphrus (John K.) of Ridgeland, SC, Lorraine Mixson (Don) of Hampton, SC, and Dee Ann Sanders (Miles) of Ridgeland, SC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am—11:00 am, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Coosawhatchie Baptist Church, 3853 Morgandollar Rd, Coosawhatchie, SC, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the O’Quinn Family Cemetery, Ridgeland.
