Weldon Ellis Wall, Sr. of Ridgeland, SC died on August 12, 2021 at the age of 84 at St. Joseph Candler Hospital after a valiant fight with Covid 19.
Born in Ridgeland, SC – Weldon was the son of J.W. Wall, Sr. and Addie Malphrus Wall.
Weldon loved the Lord and was a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church where he served as a lead usher.
He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and a true friend to many. He enjoyed gathering at the cookout to eat and fellowship around the fire pit, looking for the hairy wombat, and spending time with his family. He took pride in his home on Juliad Plantation and was always finding new things to do to “make it a showplace”. Weldon also enjoyed his time with the “boys” uptown whether it was breakfast at McDonalds or lunch at Eats and Sweets. He loved his God, family, friends and community and will be missed but forever in our hearts.
Weldon is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ronni Capici Wall; five children, Weldon Ellis Wall, Jr. “Dondi” (Theresa); Julie W. Bowman (Barry); Kendall W. Malphrus (Shannon); Paige W. Rose (Brian); and Nicholas C. Wall (Tiffany) – eleven grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Christopher, Kyle, Taylor, Hailey, Davis, Ellis, Brayden, Nicky, and Addie; and five great grandchildren, Walker, Jackson, Emma Grace, Jordy, and Logan – two brothers, J. W. Wall, Jr. (Paula) and Harold H. Wall, Sr. (Merle Ann) and many special nieces and nephews.
Weldon is predeceased by his father, J.W. Wall, Sr.; his mother, Addie Malphrus Wall; granddaughter, Logan Elizabeth Malphrus; and his first wife, Sharon Brown Wall.
Funeral services for Weldon Wall will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Ridgeland Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Juliad Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
