Mr. Wesley Curtis Carroll of Savannah, Ga, age 70, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital, with both of his daughters by his side. Curtis was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. "He was like a father to me" and "He was a great friend" are often heard when people talk about him. Curtis was retired from the Seaboard / CSX Railroad after 33 years. He also served 3 years in the United States Navy and 2 years in the Naval Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ray Carroll and Madge Lee Fludd Carroll. Curtis is survived by a daughter, Laura Selene Carroll Carlisle, of Clearwater, Fl; a daughter Christie Leigh Carroll, of Savannah, Ga; their mother Elaine Tootle Carroll, of Savannah, Ga; and 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Carlisle, Christopher Bacon, Joshua Acree, and Noah Bacon. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Jean Carroll, of Germantown, TN; a sister, Debbie Miller, of NC; several nieces and nephews; and his life-long dearest friend, Eddie Harper, of Edgewater, Fl. A celebration of his life will be held at 6pm on Friday, January 4, 2013, at 6011 Ogeechee Rd, Savannah, Ga. We would be honored to have Curtis' friends and family come, dressed casually, ready to share their favorite memories, and prepared to send him on his new pain-free journey with love and laughter.
