It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilbert “Brother” Roller, Jr., who peacefully entered his heavenly home on June 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 16, 1942, in Savannah, Georgia, Wilbert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, uncle and friend whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, and a deep love for his family.
In 1961, Wilbert moved from Savannah to Hilton Head Island, where he became a respected entrepreneur and community member. Throughout his life, he was involved in numerous ventures, including Roller Construction, the development of Heritage Plaza, Heritage Liquor, The Sea Trawler Restaurant, Farming and Cattle Ranching.
Wilbert had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He loved fishing and raising horses, beginning with Tennessee Walking Horses and later developing a deep appreciation for Cutting Horses. Whether on the water, in the pasture, or surrounded by family, he found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Roller, Sr. and Margaret Roller, and his sisters, Peggy Enslow, Willie McGraw and nephew Hal McGraw.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jenny Roller; his son, Wilbert Roller III; his daughters, Robin Roller Germann (Shawn) and Tracy Woodward (JoJo); and his cherished grandchildren: Michael Roller (Kristina), Lauren Lucas (Seth), Elizabeth White (Robert), Layton Germann (Hannah), Joey Woodward (Kayla), Jacob Woodward (Kelsey), Logan Germann, Lawson Germann, and Lindsey Epling (Shaun). He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Raymond Enslow; nephew, Steven McCoy, and his nieces, Melanie Bolchoz and Cindy Malphrus. He also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Above all else, Wilbert treasured his family. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by his unwavering love, guidance, and example.
