Bill was active in his communities. He was a Manager/Coach in the New Windsor Little League (LL), and helped build the New Windsor baseball fields complex for the youths of New Windsor, NY.

In 2001, Bill and his wife Liliane moved to Sun City Hilton Head in Bluffton, SC. He was active in many community clubs, including Car Crazy, Veterans, Computer, Travel and Ballroom Dance.
