William "Bill" August Zahler

William August Zahler (Bill, Willard, Mr. Bill), from Bluffton, SC, passed on October 6, 2021 at age 67.

He was born April 8, 1954 in Glendale, CA to the late Virginia and Donald Zahler, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, and son, Zachary, of Bluffton, SC; daughter Samantha (Eugene) of Tampa, FL; son Jason (Lexi) of CA; brother Donald Zahler of Bluffton, SC; sister Robin Raupp (Mike) of WI; and several grandchildren.

Bill was in the US Marine Corps for nine (9) years, with two tours to Vietnam.

Bill loved riding his Harley with his Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club for over 30 years, where he had many close brothers. He was also an Abate Coordinator for South Carolina.

Bill was a Master Electrician for a variety of companies in Bluffton, as well as his own. He loved being in leadership to help others in many groups and clubs. He served on the church council at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. He also served as a Boy Scout leader and Scout Master of his son Zachary's troop in Bluffton for 12 years. Everyone loved Mr. Bill.

Bill was an avid pool player on many local leagues with many friends. He loved to fish. He also helped others to get sober in AA. He so loved his family, friends and dog, Bentley.

Bill will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was a man with a heart of gold, who would give you the shirt off his back. May he rest in peace with his Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Sauls Funeral Home Pavilion, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton. Burial will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC.
