William E. Benton (Billy)

William E. Benton, age 72, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at his home in Hardeeville, SC. Billy was born in Pritchardville, SC on June 30, 1943 to the late Asberry Benton and Lilla Cooler Benton. Billy was employed by Professional Drywall Company; he was a member of Red Dam Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class; Hardeeville Marine Rescue Squadron and the South Carolina National Guard. He enjoyed car racing and loved his family. Billy was preceded by his wife, Carolyn Benton, brother, Rudy Benton and sister, Pattie Ann Benton. Billy is survived by his son, William E. Benton Jr. of Hardeeville; two daughters, T'Lane Benton (Patrick Bensch) of Guyton, GA and Julie Benton of Pooler, GA; one brother, Thomas B. Benton (Connie) of Ridgeland, SC; four sisters, Idell Cooler, Madeline Self and Margaret Thomas all of Hardeeville and Dora Sauls of Beaufort; grandchildren Celeste Bean (Michael) and Brittany Perryman (Mike Perryman); and great grandchildren, Elizabeth Bean, Mary Bean, Madison Ann Holland, Rebecca Benton, Brandon Benton, Thomas Benton, Billy Benton, Isabella Benton and sister in law, Brenda Cooler Bergna. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Red Dam Baptist Church, Hardeeville with a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
