William F. “Bill” Wilson

William F. “Bill” Wilson, age 70, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of the San Francisco Bay area, CA and Clinton, MD died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his home. William was born on November 18, 1945 in Washington, DC. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as an operating room technician during the Vietnam era. He worked as a software engineer, retiring after 21 years of service with Visa. Outside of work he enjoyed travelling and vacationing with his family. They travelled throughout much of the United States over the years. After retiring he particularly enjoyed traveling with his wife, children and grandchildren, often going to beaches and the mountains. William was born the son of William H. Wilson and the late Kathleen Wilson. He is also survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis Wilson; daughters, Wendy Sutton (James) and Heather Wilson; brother, Paul Wilson (Karen); sisters, Geraldine Donn and Katherine King (Lawrence); and grandchildren, Joseph, Holly, Rachel, Isabella, Gianna, and Zoe. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. Burial will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC with military honors.
