William Bradley Blair

W. Bradley (Brad) Blair, 90, of Hilton Head Island, SC died Tuesday morning March 22, 2011 at Broad Creek Care Center. Born in Ogdensburg, NY, he was the son of the late Ada Bradley Blair and Ralph James Blair. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jane Blair; daughter, Tanya Blair Deblitz (Karl) of Bluffton, SC and son, W. Bradley Blair II (Marianne) of Johns Island, SC; one nephew, Dr. Ralph Blair (Elisa) of Wellesley, MA; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Ada Blair and brother, Ralph Blair. Brad graduated from Fairmont State College and was a US Navy WWII veteran; a devoted executive in the metals industry having worked for RJR, American Can and Continental Can. Upon retirement in 1985, Mary Jane and Brad fulfilled a lifelong dream of summers spent in the mountains of NC and winters in Florida where they established great memories with lifelong friends while pursuing their love of golf and boating. His many passions extended to the dance floor where he will be remembered fondly not only by his style and grace but equally by his trademark smile that would light up any room. He was loved by so many and his wonderful personality, kindness towards others and graciousness will be missed by those who were blessed to know him. We love you Dad and Grandpa
