Sadly, on March 22, 2022, we lost our beloved eldest brother, Bill Boothby, to the ravages of Parkinson’s disease. He was 70 years young. Bill was born in Holmesburg and moved to the Plumbridge section of Levittown in 1958. He was a 1969 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended Shippensburg College, earning a degree in poker, beer and buddies (who became his lifelong friends). He completed his degree in accounting at Trenton State College.
Bill retired as CFO of Combined Express 15 years ago and he and his wife, Nancy, moved to Bluffton, SC where he settled into life in the Riverbend section of Sun City. He referred to it as year round camp for old geezers and embraced the lifestyle with great passion. Bill could always be counted on for a rude birthday card, a funny insult and a great deal of laughter. No one will forget his booming laugh.
Bill is survived by his dear wife, Nancy Keeley Boothby, and his daughter, Dawn. He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his brother, Glenn Boothby, (Bruna), his sisters, Jill Boothby Saul (Bill), and Aleen Boothby Rabuck (Tom) as well as many nieces and nephews, their spouses and their children. We will all miss him terribly.
Services will be held in Bluffton, South Carolina on Sunday, March 27th.
In honor of Bill, eat a BIG BOWL of ice cream, laugh loudly and often and embrace life as he did - fully engaged - each and every day.
