William C. Dobbing, Jr.

William C. Dobbing, Jr., 65, of Hilton Head Island, SC and formerly of Manchester, CT died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home. Mr. Dobbing was born on October 25, 1951 in Kearny, NJ, the son of the late William C. Dobbing and Catherine Love Dobbing. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, earning a degree in engineering. Upon graduating, he began his career as an engineer with the State of Connecticut. While living in Hilton Head, he worked as a crew supervisor with Cleland Construction. Mr. Dobbing is survived by his brother, Richard Dobbing (Mary) of Woodruff, SC and his sister, Carolyn Welch (Bo) of Bluffton, SC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to First Tee of the Lowcountry.
