William James Drew

William James Drew, 79 of Ridgeland, SC and husband of Debra Kay Anderson Drew passed away at his home on September 26, 2017. Mr. Drew was born in Flint, Michigan on July 9, 1938 to the late Claude Drew and Adelaide Fogilphol Drew. He was a building contractor; worked at Shumaker service station in Michigan; 1957-1980 was the owner of Drew and Harmon Concrete Company. Once he moved to South Carolina he was the co-owner of Drew Brothers Construction Company with his brother, Bob, until retirement. He was a Baptist; enjoyed deer hunting at Rose Dhu Hunt Club; enjoyed gardening and planting trees; always happy and loved everyone. In addition to his wife of Ridgeland; he is survived by his sons, Billy Drew (Tina) of Honor, MI, Clayton Drew (Mandy) and Jimmy Drew all of Ridgeland and Raymond Drew of Minnesota; five daughters, Lori Patrilla (Rick) of Okatie, SC, Brenda Drew (Larry St. Croix) of Clarkston, MI, Shannon Hamilton (Dishan) of Ridgeland, Kimmie Drew of Orlando, FL, Nicole ‘Snick’ Starnes (Bill) of Ladys Island, SC and Katie Drew of Ridgeland; brothers, John Drew (Beatrice) of MI, Bob Drew (Diane) of Camp St. Mary’s; sisters, Gladys McConnelee of MI and Patricia Barber of MI; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and his special pets, Jax (the dog) and Queenie (the cat). He was predeceased by his brothers, Henry and Claude Drew and sisters, Delores Eickhoff and Mary and Catherine Drew.
