William T. “Bill” Fitzroy, II died peacefully at his home on May 9, 2026 in Bluffton, SC. He was born on May 21, 1944 to Roberta and William T. “Buzz” Fitzroy in Pittsburgh, PA.
Bill retired in 1999 from Delphi Packard Electric- a division of General Motors – after transferring to Clinton, MS in 1973 to help with the startup of the new plant. Over the next 26 years, Bill led many different departments throughout the plant but more importantly met the love of his life, Ann Slentz.
Bill’s accomplishments include becoming an Eagle Scout, teaching Business at several area colleges, being a hot air balloon pilot, and he could repair anything except the crack of dawn. He enjoyed woodworking, stained glass and going on long cruises. Bill had a zest for life that was exhibited through his laughter and fun with everyone he met.
In 2006, they moved to Bluffton, SC and met many new friends from many other places. He served on the Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee for Sun City Hilton Head.
In his final hours, Bill was surrounded by his wife of 48 years, Ann Slentz Tracy Fitzroy, his daughter Kristen Prall (Dave) of Georgetown, TX and his stepson Dr. Ryan Tracy (Stephanie) of Clinton, MS. In addition to his wife and children, Bill is survived by two sisters, Beverly McCollough, of Bluffton, SC and Beth Ann Shearer. His memory will continue to live on in his grandchildren Sydney Denton, Emily Denton, Katie Tracy, and Jack Tracy. Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his brother Ralph “Skip” Fitzroy.
A celebration of life will be held in Bluffton, SC in June. In lieu of gifts, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Hospital in his name.
