William Franklin Heer

William Franklin Heer, 76 of Okatie, SC passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at his home.He was born in Patterson, NJ on May 31, 1934. He was the son of the late Emil and Martha VanTreek Heer.He was a retired Nuclear Engineer and Vice President of Babcock & Wilcox Company and McDermott International. He was a avid Virginia Tech Fan. He was a member of the Hokie Club Alumni Association. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was a US Army veteran.He is survived by his wife, Lana O. Heer of Okatie, SC; two daughters, Deidre Faith Heer (Andy) Logan of North Canton, OH and Denise Martha Heer Butler of Richmond, VA; one sister, Carole Heer (Ron) Farrell of Rehobeth Beach, DE and grandchildren, Cameron, Taylor and Drew Logan and Jimmy (J.C.) Butler.The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 28, 2011. A reception will follow at 1:00 pm at the Country Club of Callawassie. The family will receive friends from 4 til 6 pm, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
