William Franklin Higgs Jr.

William Franklin Higgs Jr., 63 passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at his home on Hilton Head Island, SC.He was born in Dillon, SC on June 28, 1947. He was the son of the late William Franklin Higgs Sr. and Ruth Dew Higgs Allen.He was a pilot for Piedmont Airlines and US Airways. He was a Real Estate Broker. He was a football player for the University of South Carolina. He was a baseball coach for Hilton Head Christian Academy and other area teams. He lived for his children. He was a Christian.He is survived by his wife, Barbara K. Higgs of Hilton Head Island; one son, Luke Carson Higgs of Hilton Head Island; and one daughter, Kathryn Kinsey Higgs of Charleston, SC. He was predeceased by his sister, Brenda Rhodes.The family requests memorial gifts be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910 or the Hilton Head Christian Academy Baseball Program, 55 Gardner Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926-2421 in memory of William Franklin Higgs, Jr.Private Services will be held.
