William Hubbard

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved William (Bubba) Hubbard, Jr. He left this earth June 13, 2026, due to complications after an extended battle with cancer. He passed at his home, where he wanted to be, with his children by his side.

He was born February 19, 1962, in Savannah, Georgia, but lived all his life in Bluffton, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, his father, Herman, and his brother, Kerry. He is survived by his children, Shannon Hubbard (Steve Novak) and Dustin Hubbard; his wife, Gayle Hubbard; sisters Cathy Lamb and Shelly Strange (Jeff); Shannon's children, Savannah, Sebastian, and Scarlett; Dustin's son Connor; and Cathy's sons Zachary, Trey, and Ben.

Bubba was a quiet man and was always willing to help anyone whenever he could. He loved his family unconditionally and doted on his grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, and being with family and friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. In lieu of sending flowers, Bubba requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Maye River Baptist Church Cemetery.
