William Joseph Johnson

William Joseph Johnson, 62, of Bluffton, died July 21, 2012 at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center.He was born on September 21, 1949 in Oceanside, NY the son of Doris L. Johnson and the late Samuel Johnson.He was the owner of Beachside Tire & Auto of Hilton Head Island. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He enjoyed building custom hot rods, boating, racing cars, and visiting Aruba. He loved animals and was a strong supporter of local business. He loved his family and grandchildren.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice C. Johnson of Bluffton, SC; his mother, Doris L. Johnson of Hilton Head Island, SC; son Sam Johnson (Emily of Bluffton, SC; daughter Diane Doughty (Billy) of Bluffton, SC; sister Grayce Gardner of NY; grandchildren Megan, Morgan, and Allie Doughty; grand-dog Mojo Johnson; and several cousins.A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton with a Wake Service starting at 7:30 pm. The family requests memorial donations be made in honor of William Johnson to the W. T. I. Scholarship Foundation c/o Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton SC 29910
