On July 2, 2026, the Lord called his angels for the love of my life. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I think of you in silence, for what it meant to lose you. Remembering you is easy; I do it every day. It’s the heartache of losing you, and the missing part is the hardest. I will always love you! Rest my love; I will always be with you.

William “Billy” Fleming Martin, 87, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away July 2, 2026 at his home. He was born February 16, 1939 in Washington, D.C. to the late Harold McDowell Martin and Dorothy Virginia Hite Martin.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Stuart Martin; daughters, Dorette “Kim” Strange (Frank) of Carthage, NC, Heather Elaine La Viola (Andy) of Bluffton, SC, and Holly Ann Martin of Ridgeland, SC; step-daughter, Kimberley F. Clark of Bluffton; step-son, Gary R. Clark, Jr. of Hilton Head Island; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Jazmine Jenkins and Amara Clark; 14 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren, Legend Fields, Iyla Fields, Zury Fields, and J’Adore Edwards. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Harold McDowell Martin, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 17, 2026 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
