William Alva Mccormack

William Alva McCormack, 81, of Columbia, SC passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Agape Assisted Living of Laurens, SC. Mr. McCormack was born in Ridgeland, SC, the son of the late Artie J. McCormack and Rosa Lee Malphrus Sutherland. He worked as a manager for a local radio station and retired after 26 years as executive of a local chain store. He was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jackilee Sutherland and two daughters, Tammy McCormack and Marsha Sue Parker. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia McCormack; daughter, Pamela K. Sheehan; grandson, Jason Bryant McCormack; and sister, Ernestine McCormack Cooler. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland, SC 29936. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Great Swamp Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Rosewood Baptist Church, 2901 Rosewood Drive, Columbia, SC 29205.
