A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton. The burial will take place following the service at 12:00 pm at Beaufort National Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed, and the livestream link can be found at the bottom of this obituary page at the time of the service.
William (Bill) James Jamison Jr. Reidinger, age 69, passed away at home in Bluffton, South Carolina,in the arms of his loving partner, Lupita Chavez.
He was born on September 19, 1956, in San Bernardino, California. Bill was the son of Gloria andWilliam James Jamison, Sr. He lived in California, Germany, Iowa, South Carolina, and Oklahoma.
Bill grew up in Rinard and Fort Dodge, Iowa, baptized at Riverside Methodist Church, Fort Dodge ,Iowa, attending elementary and middle school while living with his paternal grandmother, AgnesJamison. He was active in school sports and band, playing the trombone, cornet, French horn, andtuba. He traveled with the Lancer's Competitive Marching Band across the U.S. He enjoyed summercamps, baseball, ice skating, swimming, fishing, golf, and bowling, and bowled a perfect 300, winninga $1,000.00 award.
Bill, Rochelle, and Ronald came to live with their mother and stepfather, and sister, Patricia ( Trish) inCharleston, South Carolina, in 1969 and were adopted in 1972. Bill attended Northeast High Schooland Northwest High School in Oklahoma City. He worked as a cook for KFC and as a lifeguard for thecity parks prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1974. He was stationed in San Diego and traveled theworld in his many assignments on the U.S.S. Blue Ridge. Bill was a Communication Specialist, OS3,receiving many awards and accolades for excellence in leadership.
Bill and Margo Martin, schoolmates, were married in 1975 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and had oneson, James Martin Reidinger, in 1977. They lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and San Diego,California. Upon his Honorable Discharge in May 1980, Bill returned to Oklahoma City to attendcollege at Oklahoma City University, later transferring to United Electronics Institute and graduatingin 1984. He worked at Magnetic Peripherals Inc. until he resigned to assist his ailing stepfather, WilsonO. Reidinger, and Gloria Reidinger, move from Dix Hills, New York, to Moncks Corner, South Carolina,near Lake Moultrie, remaining a caregiver for his parents throughout their lives.
Bill worked as General and District management in AMF Bowling Centers. Bill married WydetteRamey, who had a young son, named Michael Ramey. He became Michael’s stepfather, and remaineda positive presence in his life. He always carried Michael’s picture with him, and took great pride inwatching him serve in the United States Marine Corps and attain the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
Bill medically retired from AMF in Savannah, Georgia, in 2009. He continued his hobbies, collectingbaseball cards, coins, stamps, comic books, figurines, antiques and Star Trek memorabilia deluxe!
Bill and Lupita started as neighbors for five years, then their friendship blossomed into a lovingrelationship that lasted over 10 years. Bill showered Lupita with love on her birthdays, holidays, and"just because." They shared a deep soulmate bond, and he treated her daughter, Ivy like the princessshe has grown to be.
Bill loved his family fiercely and visited, called, texted, and otherwise teased us incessantly. Pure love!
We will miss you, William, Dad, Big Brother Bill, Uncle Bill, BIG RED and Friend. It is hard to imagine a day without you.
