William Henry Thomas Floyd, Sr.

William Henry Thomas Floyd, Sr., 90, passed away December 25, 2014 at Hilton Head Hospital in Hilton Head Island, SC. He was born in Greenville, SC on August 8, 1924 to the late Ernest E. and Mabelle Dennis Floyd. He was a Truck Driver Owner Operator; US Marine Corps and US Navy Veteran of WWII, Korea and the South Pacific. He was a member of Hardeeville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a former choir member. He enjoyed freshwater fishing. He is survived by his wife, Reba Ackerman Floyd of Ridgeland, SC; sons, William Henry Thomas Floyd, Jr. of Columbia, SC; Patrick Michael Floyd (Wendy) of St. Petersburg, FL; Raymond Anthony Floyd of Columbia, SC; Joseph Andrew Floyd (Kim) of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Annie Reba Floyd of Monticello, IN; twelve grandchildren, Jimmy, Jackie, Heather, Michael, Kimberly, Brian, Wendy, Christie, Andy, Diane, Nikki and Andrew and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Earl Floyd and grandson, Matt. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Hardeeville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of service at the church. Interment with military honors will take place beginning 1:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
