William “Winkey” Malphrus, Sr., 80 of Hampton; formerly of Ridgeland passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Winkey was born October 26, 1935 to Bill and Oneida Malphrus. He was a Christian who enjoyed playing music and singing in church and to the elderly at the Estill Nursing Home. He was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Hampton. He retired from EM Industries in 2001 after 25 years. There he made numerous friends. He played on the company softball and bowling leagues. He is survived by his wife of 13 years Ethel Smith Malphrus. Children William “Bill” Malphrus, Jr. and Dorothy “Dottie” Colter (Mike) of Ridgeland. Daughter in Law Brenda Malphrus Santa Cruz, CA. Stepchildren: Bud Smith, (Lori) Annette Belk, (Francis) and Faye Rowe (Steve). 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Three sisters Myrtis Herndon Stevenson, Kathryn King, Lois Malphrus and an abundance of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Elizabeth Stamps Malphrus, Parents Bill and Oneida Malphrus, son William “Geeter” Malphrus, sisters Elizabeth Harper and Martha Ann Cannon Family would like to thank Regency Hospice and all of their caregivers for their love and support. The family will be receiving friends Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St. Ridgeland, SC. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, September 16, 2016 at Church of God of Prophecy, 201 Plywood St. Hampton, SC with a visitation beginning at Noon until the hour of the service. Burial will follow at Great Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC. In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of William Malphrus to Church of God of Prophecy, P.O.
