Willie Mae Munch Horton

Willie Mae Munch Horton, 98, widow of Frank S. Horton, of Ridgeland, SC died on November 21, 2010.She was born November 8, 1912 in Ridgeland, SC to Emily Everlina Vaigneur Munch and Willie Allen Munch. She worked for a brief time during the early years of her marriage, but after her first son was born she devoted herself entirely to her family and her home. She was a lifelong member of the Ridgeland Baptist Church and was very active in many church activities especially her Sunday school class and her missionary circle.She is survived by three sons and their wives, James F. and Diana of Fayetteville, AR.; Wendell A. and Sarah Ann and C. Graham and Carol of Ridgeland, SC; six grandchildren, Grace Kattan of Cleveland; Christopher Horton of Chicago; Allen Horton of Yemassee; Van Horton of Beaufort; Reaves Montjoy of Savannah and Taylor Horton of Ridgeland; seven great grandchildren, Madeleine and Lily Kattan of Cleveland; Jacob, Samuel and John Paul Horton of Beaufort ; Jamison Horton of Yemassee and Ava Montjoy of Savannah; one brother, Lonnie Munch of Hampton; five nieces, seven nephews and many grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank S. Horton; five sisters, Jenny Kelley, Gertude Dempsey, Dorothy Munch and two who died during childhood; five brothers, Willis, Samuel, Earnest, Celward and Vincent.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Ridgeland Baptist Church with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
