Woodrow Wilson Durden, 91, of Brooklet, GA died January 11, 2014 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA. He was born on July 19, 1922 in Ridgeland, SC the son of the late Lonnie and Louise Blakely Durden. He was a retired from the US Army after 20 years of service, serving in WWII, The Vietnam War, and the Korean War. He is survived by his 6 children; Sandy Barton (James) of Springfield, GA, Lisa Jones (Sid) of Portal, Amy Stapleton (Paul) of Brooklet, GA, Bambi Singletary (Chris) of Brooklet, GA, Donna McCormick (Richard) of Clio, GA, and Bruce Finch (Brandi) of Rincon, GA; 12 grandchildren, Jeramy Goodlin, Thomas Durden, Kimberly Wilson, Norris Evans, III, Paul Stapleton, III, Brittany Finch, Miranda Evans, Tyler Ryea, Shelbie Jones, Evan Finch, Abigail Singletary, and Ellie Finch; 2 great-grandchildren, Chloe and Ethan Goodlin; sisters Wilhelmina Benton (Joseph) and Annie Delores Weber (Paul d.); and 14 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland 29936 with burial following at the Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland. A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland 29936 with burial following at the Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland.
