Zonamarie Wessel

Zonamarie Wessel, age 79, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Louisville, KY died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA.

Mrs. Wessel was born on August 11, 1939 in Lexington, KY, the daughter of the late Robert and Mamie Catherine Glass. She had a long career in the hospitality industry and retired as a General Manager before beginning her own dinner club business. She was currently the co-owner of Business by the Books, a bookkeeping service to assist small businesses in the area. While living in Kentucky she volunteered assisting victims of domestic violence. In Bluffton she volunteered with the Hilton Head Animal Shelter, Bluffton Self Help, and was a member of the Sun City Civil War Club. Outside of work and civic involvement she was an avid reader, especially history.

Mrs. Wessel is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Donald Wessel; daughter, Deborah Wessel (Robert Brown); and sister, Virginia Hollon (Bobby).

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2018 at Community Bible Church, 638 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, SC 29906.
