Anne Temme Obituary

Anne Rita Temme, nee Enright was  born on December 4th, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York.  The youngest of eight children brought into this world by her father, Patrick Enright of Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland,  and her mother, Hannah Enright, nee Sheehan of Cork City, Ireland.  Her sisters and brothers include: Sister Mary Norine Enright, Sisters of Saint Joseph, John Enright, Peggy Wren, Mary Drohan,  Thomas Enright, Catherine Keough and Patricia Looker.

Anne attended Holy Name Grammar School and graduated from Bay Ridge High School.  Her first job was working for Mutual Insurance Company in midtown, Manhattan. She later worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in the Wall Street area.  Anne served as a teacher’s aide in the Connetquot School District and finally worked for Manchester Equipment as a credit clerk.

In 1964, Anne met the love of her life.  Bob and Anne married in 1966 and began their life together. A  year later, Anne gave birth to a son, Stephen. Three years later after moving from Brooklyn to Ronkonkoma,  Long Island, Anne brought Edward  home from the hospital.

Over the years, Anne became a great cook.  She collected numerous recipes and cook books. Anne enjoyed watching cooking shows on TV applying what she learned to her culinary skills.  Anne became adept at decorating her home. She looked forward to shopping at Home Goods introducing seasonal decorations to her home.

Anne also was an avid traveler.  From Ireland to Italy, Hawaii to Alaska, she planned the itinerary for the yearly trips she and Bob would take.  Anne was smart and practical.  She was faithfilled, faithfull,  loving and caring.

In 2001, Bob and Anne retired and moved to a new home which they built in Sun City Hilton Head.  They met new friends and enjoyed their retirement playing golf and traveling.

Anne was proudest of her five grandchildren.  Stephen and Wendy’s two sons, Sean and Tyler and Edward and Katie’s, Keira, Michael and Colin were in her daily thoughts and prayers.

 In  2022, Anne was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis.  She fought hard to slow down the progress of the disease.  She died peacefully surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Friday, July 21, 2023 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton, SC.  In lieu of flowers, please consider remembering Anne by donating to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry or Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
