Annie Laurie Johnson Hubbard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Laurie Johnson Hubbard. Annie Laurie was born September 22, 1934, in Charleston, SC and died September 21, 2021, one day before her 87th birthday.

Annie Laurie is preceded in death by her parents Jesse Archibald Johnson and Leila Richerdeen Garvin Johnson; brothers Jay Johnson and Neal Johnson; and her grandson Ricky Hubbard.

Annie Laurie was a longtime resident of Hardeeville and worked at several local restaurants before retiring from the Holiday Inn where she established lifelong friendships with her fellow workers.

Annie Laurie’s greatest joy in life was being with her family and having large Sunday dinners. There was always a reason to celebrate at these dinners because birthdays were never overlooked, and everyone was expected to attend. Annie Laurie also loved to cook and catered large social gatherings in the Hardeeville area.

Annie Laurie is survived by her loving husband Earl Hubbard; son Mike Hubbard (Carolyn), daughter Nancy Butler (Roy), son Richard Hubbard (Betsy), daughter Dora Meador (Billy) and son Billy Hubbard (Lisa); grandchildren Michael Hubbard (Jennifer), Collin Hubbard, Jessie Hubbard, and Jonathon Hubbard; great grandchildren Jamie Hubbard, Rebecca Hubbard, Christian Hubbard, and Madison Hubbard.

The pall bearers are Michael Hubbard, Collin Hubbard, Jonathon Hubbard, Donnie Besecker, David Cooler and Simon Hutson.

Graveside services will be at the Purrysburg Cemetery in Hardeeville, Saturday September 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
