Arlene (Monte) Ryan

Arlene Ryan, aged 85, of Sun City, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023 due to complications of cancer. She was surrounded by her adoring family. Arlene's love story with the cherished Robert E. Ryan (Bob) began when they met in Brooklyn, NY at the tender age of 15. Their love only grew stronger over the course of 64 blissful years of marriage, with Arlene often fondly proclaiming that she still felt like a bride.

Arlene is survived by her three devoted children, whom she affectionately referred to as her "chickadees": Robert Ryan of Virginia, Christopher Ryan of California, and Kelly Rogers of Massachusetts. Additionally, Arlene leaves behind three treasured grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy: Mariah and Amelia (her "dollies") her grandson, Bek, son in-law, Tom Rogers and daughter in-law, Liz Ryan.

Arlene's life was filled with joy as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and infectious laughter will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She often spoke of how blessed she felt to have led the life she did; however, it was truly those who knew her that were blessed by her presence.

A memorial mass and reception to follow of Arlene's beautiful life will be held at Saint Gregory Catholic Church in Bluffton on Monday, May 15th at 10:30am with a reception to follow. Join us as we honor and remember a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her.
