Bonita "Bonnie" Vignale Obituary

Bonita Rae Vignale (nee Parker), “Bonnie” to all who knew and loved her, died suddenly Sunday, March 7th, 2021, in the arms of her loving husband, John Edward Vignale. Bonnie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 14th, 1948 to Bettie and Raymond Parker. Bonnie and John met in the 5th grade at St. Lawrence School in Cincinnati, and well, the rest is history. They began their young love journey in the 5th grade and shared their first kiss on March 25th, 1961, the night UC beat OSU in the NCAA Championship. Bonnie and John continued this love story at separate high schools in Cincinnati- Bonnie at Seton High School and John at Elder High School. Upon their high school graduation in 1966, Bonnie and John married on August 9th at St. Lawrence Church. Two months later, their first child Angela Marie was born. Five years later, they welcomed their son Michael John.

After 50 plus years in Cincinnati, Bonnie and John moved south to Hilton Head Island to begin the next chapter of their love story. Bonnie always had a passion for interior design, furnishings, and antiques. With her eye for a good “pick”, her tenacity and talent for resurrecting “dead people’s old furniture”, this passion evolved into a highly successful business. Bonnie was an integral part to the Savannah, Georgia antique community, in which she found great joy and camaraderie.

Those left behind will never be the same. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John (Ollie) Edward Vignale; son, Michael; daughter, Angela (Brett); granddaughters, Madeline, and Grace; sister, Regina; brother-in-law, Tom (Karen); sister-in-law Sally; many nieces and a nephew; her grandpups Taos and Jessup; and numerous friends from both Cincinnati and South Carolina. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Bettie and Raymond Parker, her sister-in-law Patricia, her brother-in-law Patrick, and her nephew Nicholas- all of whom met her at the gates of heaven with wide open arms.

A memorial mass to celebrate her amazing, love-filled life will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday, March 19th, 2021 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Habitat for Humanity-Bluffton, SC and The Litter Box-Hilton Head Island, SC.
