Bonnie Mary Mitchell

Bonnie Mary Mitchell, beloved daughter of Tom and Mary Mitchell of Niantic, CT passed on to the angels on June 13, 2022.  Her partner David Suiter, parents, brother and aunts were at her side.

Bonnie was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, Arizona State University and Brooklyn Law School.  She practiced law in Stuart, FL Miami FL.  West Palm Beach FL and West Hartford, CT.

Bonnie and David lived in Ridgeland, SC where they raised multiple foster children.  The foster children who filled their hearts were Andrea, Tivie, Brelle, Caleb, Carmen, and Amelia. 

She leaves behind to grieve her brother Tom Jr, his wife Sarah and their two children – Mackenzie Mary and Jackson Thomas of Wellesley, MA.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Nellie and Anthony Mitchell, James and Genevieve Allen, Uncle Robert Mitchell of Arizona, her cousins Joshua Allard, and Julie Allen Lanati, and her friend David Coullard who died while serving his country. 

Besides immediate family she leaves her Godparents, Peg and Lou Uliano.  (Peg was by Bonnie’s side and advising all along this hard journey) Her best friend and cousin, Jennifer Cavalieri, her Aunt Diane Mitchell. In CT Jim and Deb Allen, Helen and Byron Clark, Gen and Mark Hall, Jane and Tim Quinn, Theresa Allen and Al Karas, Jacqueline and Christopher Doucot, Veronica and John Phelps, and many cousins both in Arizona and CT. She also leaves Tom’s cousin Linda Timura who made her a beautiful prayer blanket.

There will be no calling hours or funeral. A private gathering for family will be planned at a later date.  We would like to thank Compassus Hospice in South Carolina (Nurse Cathy) for their kind and efficient care plus Aunts Theresa Allen and Veronica Phelps who traveled to SC to assist in nursing care and childcare of Amelia.
