Captain Arthur R. Biagi, Jr., age 73, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Greeley, PA died Monday, February 4, 2019 at his home in Bluffton, SC

Mr. Biagi was born January 31, 1946 in Weehawken, NJ. He was a 1964 graduate of East Brunswick High School. In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Carole J. Pastore. When he was drafted in 1966, he proudly served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War.  Upon being honorably discharged in 1969 and returning home, he completed his education to be a New York City Harbor tug boat captain and harbor pilot. With a career spanning 45 years, he was the longest running New York City Harbor pilot in New York City history. When he moved to Bluffton, SC, he was able to enjoy his love of the beach on Hilton Head Island. He got to enjoy his love of the water when he owned a beautiful fishing boat that he took on fishing excursions and pleasure cruises. He was a faithful, active member of the Resurrection Christian Community Church.

He leaves his daughter Jeana M. Biagi-Stritter and son-in-law George; daughter Amy R. Biagi and daughter Diana C. Tarulli and son-in-law Michael; granddaughter Morgan and grandsons Michael and Anthony.

He was preceded by his loving spouse Carole in 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Sunday February 24, 2019 at Resurrection Christian Community Church, 296 Spanish Wells Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926 with Senior Pastor Reverend Len Stubbs presiding.

Flowers can be delivered to the church or remembrances can be made to any charity that supports American military veterans.
