Charles Boswell Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Boswell, 60, of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully after a 3 year battle with cancer on March 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife, Judy, and family members. Chuck was born in Bethesda, Maryland on July 7, 1960, to the late Charles Franklin Boswell and Charlotte Marie Boswell. Chuck graduated from Friendly High School in 1978 and began a 36 ½ year career with the Department of the Navy. Chuck and Judy met on June 12, 1984, and well, the rest is history. They were married on September 26, 1987 in Fort Washington, Maryland and enjoyed 33 ½ wonderful years together.  

Chuck worked for the Department of the Navy Open Skies and Non-Strategic Arms Control as Implementation and Compliance Treaty Manager. Throughout his career he traveled all over the world and received several awards for his service. Most notably, Chuck was awarded the Meritorious Civil Service Award which was of high value and benefit to the Navy. Chuck retired on October 2, 2015 and he and wife, Judy, moved to Sun City Hilton Head.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, playing softball and playing golf. He loved the Lord and was an active member of Red Dam Baptist Church in Hardeeville. He touched the life of everyone he met.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Boswell of Bluffton, SC, mother, C. Marie Boswell of Mechanicsville, MD, sister, Nancy Manning (Hal) of King George, VA, sister, Patti Pickerall (Eddie) of Waldorf, MD, brother, Michael Boswell of Mechanicsville, MD, brother, Kenny Boswell (Pattty Ann) of Deale, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Road, Hardeeville, SC 29927.
