Christina "Christie" Marie Monaco Whitaker

Christina “Christie” Marie Monaco Whitaker was born November 7, 1971 in Dunkirk, New York to Joseph A. Monaco Jr. and Kathy Knopp Hogsett.

Christie attended Westfield Academy and Central School, graduating from Battery Creek High School after the family relocated to South Carolina. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Whitaker; son, Harmon Whitaker; Step-daughters, Christy Whitaker Tindal (Chris) and Brittany Whitaker; mother; father; sister, Julianna Monaco, along with Nieces and Nephews; Step-sisters Megan Hogsett Masters (James) and family, and Cissy Hogsett Zareva (Daniel Harvey) and son; Step-grandchildren Georgia Whitaker, Brayden Tindal, Aubree Tindal, and Jeremy Whitaker; along with many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Christie was our family’s memory keeper. She loved keeping up with all of her relatives and friends. Baking, cake decorating, cooking, and crafts were just some of her hobbies. Above all, Christie’s passion for rehabilitating raccoons was immeasurable. She raised many baby raccoons, multiples at a time, and loved every second of it.

In February of 2007, the Lord blessed Christie and Tim with a son. From then on they were inseparable. Christie never met a stranger, trusted everyone, had such a giving heart, and she would do anything for anyone with a huge smile on her face. Not only did Tim lose a good wife and mother, the world lost a good person.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, June 13^th, 2020 at 11:00 am at Tillman Baptist Church that is open to anyone who would like to attend.
