David Murray Waugh, beloved husband of Linda Langeman Waugh died on January 12, 2021 at Hilton Head Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
On July 2, 1966 he married Linda Langeman and celebrated 54 wonderful years together.
He received a Masters degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Alberta in Calgary. He taught high school mathematics and physics as well as coached football and hockey in Calgary prior to joining IBM in 1970. His career had taken him throughout the United States, Canada and Australia.
Dave was an avid sportsman enjoying hockey, hunting and skiing in his beloved Canada and kayaking with his great friends in Hampton Hall.
Dave volunteered with Guide Dogs of America, Child Help USA, the Board of Hampton Hall Foundation, Bluffton Beautification Committee and served various committee positions at Bluffton United Methodist Church.
Dave was predeceased by his mother and father Murray and Jessie Waugh, brothers John and Gordon Waugh. He leaves behind his beloved wife Linda, sisters in law Audrey and Dolores Waugh, brother in law and sister in law Walt & Sue Langeman as well as many favorite nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date due to Covid-19. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bluffton United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 368, Bluffton, SC 29910 or Palmetto Animal League.
