Dean Yerden Obituary

Sunrise: January 16, 1943

Sunset: June 16, 2022

To know Dean, you knew a man who passionately loved his God, his family and his friends.  He was generous with his time and talent to be sure people were cared for. Dean was involved with many church functions through the years. His love of music with that beautiful tenor voice, he sang in choirs and praise teams. Dean was part of the Men’s Ministry, the SALT Ministry, and many Bible studies and prayer groups during the years. He believed in a God he couldn’t see, but he knew God was real. He trusted by faith in a God that he found faithful. He believed that God died for his sins, and that he was forgiven of his sins, and that his eternal home was in Heaven.

He fought courageously for six weeks to live so he could enjoy the abundant life God had graciously bestowed on him. All who believe in this God, can and will be given eternal life.  God called Dean Home, to a better place with no pain nor sorrow, a place called Heaven. His sister, Jean, thinks God maybe wanted Dean’s computer help!

Dean leaves behind a loving wife, Ginny Yerden; daughters, Trasi Graham and Trisha (Larry) Potenza of Columbus, Ohio area; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Tom) Tufts of Lakeland, Florida; one step-daughter, Debi Pannell of Carroll, Ohio; one step-son, Bill Blackburn of Denver Colorado; four grandchildren, three great grandsons, many nieces and nephews, and a loving church family.  As a Christian, Dean’s hope and faith was that one day, we will all be reunited.

If he could talk to you today, Dean would tell you, “Don’t wait too long”. He did not see this coming. He did not know he was sick until the doctor told him.  I watched him suffer and yet, he did not complain; but he did realize we only have a limited time on this earth.

To his family:  Dean loved you beyond measure! Love like there is no tomorrow. Live like you were invited to live when you were formed from our Creator.
