Deborah Archer Obituary

Deborah Ann Archer (68) left this world to go to her Heavenly home on February 1, 2023.

She lost her battle with cancer, which had been diagnosed just the year before. She and her husband Ronald Archer had just moved to Hilton Head Sun City, South Carolina in 2022.

Debi was born in Louisville, KY where she married Ronald Thomas Archer at age 19. They have 3 children: Jennifer Brown (Scott), Wesley Archer, and Megan Kuhl (Ben). They also have four grandchildren: Caroline (Jennifer), Ruby, Rosie, and Rowan (Megan) - they called her DD.

She is survived by siblings Phil Heuke (Brenda), Becky Walton (Bill), and Tammy Hatcher (Chris). She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Susie Heuke, and brother, Jerry Heuke.

Debi was a kind hearted, joyful person. She was a natural storyteller, and was always the life of every party with her quick wit and funny stories. She was so generous, always helping others, never thinking of herself. She was a gifted seamstress, artist, and decorator.  She could make anything, bake anything, and was the “hostess with the mostest”- she made everything beautiful and fun. She loved nature, animals, and most of all, her family and grandkids.

Debi and Ron did everything together. They were avid cruisers and traveled all over. In the last year, they took one last adventure to live in Hilton Head, their favorite travel destination. One of her favorite activities was being on the beach- either walking, riding her bike, or simply sitting, enjoying God’s beautiful creation. They were married 48 years.

Debi loved the Lord and always said her most important purpose in life was training her children to know Him - and she succeeded. She spoke about her relationship with Jesus in everyday life and impressed upon them how real and important that was. Even during her illness, she constantly saw how the Lord was helping her and saying, “God is so, so good.” Her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.

We have no doubt that Debi is at a big party in Heaven right now, telling funny stories to a crowd of all her loved ones who have gone on before her.

Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Chapel In The Woods. 1407 Moser Road, Louisville KY 40299. Visitation from 2:00-5:00 pm. Service at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bible Bowl program at Southeast Christian Church by check (put “Bible Bowl donation” in the memo line).
