Donald Merritt Snow

Donald Merritt Snow of Bluffton, SC passed 10/28/23 at the age of 80 while in rehabilitation after a fall at home in late August. He is preceded in death by his parents, C. A. and Dorothea of Fort Wayne IN.  Don received a BA in 1965 and MA in 1967 from The University of Colorado where he was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.  He received his PhD in 1969 from Indiana University.  He taught for 38 years at The University of Alabama.  Served as a visiting professor at U.S. Navel War College (85-86), United States Army War College (89-91) and Air War College; now Air University (96-97.)  He also had a very productive career publishing over 65 textbooks on International Relations and American Foreign Policy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna, son Eric (Jody) and three grandchildren, Parker, Josie and KB, along with his beloved dog Toby. 

As per his wishes, there is no service planned and family will spread his ashes in the mountains.  In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to the Art League of Hilton Head, PO Box 22834, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925
