Donna M. DeBerardino passed on to eternal life with God on March 2, 2020 after years of multiple medical issues. She was a quiet, unpretentious, dignified Christian of uncompromising integrity. She will be greatly missed by her family she leaves behind: her spouse of 60 years, Anthony DeBerardino, four sons and their families of 12 grandchildren:
Robert (Maureen); Maryrose, Jonathan, Grace and Claire.
Thomas (Heather); Dominic and Tristan
Stephen (Denise); Anna and Ryan
David (Christina); Joseph, Nicholas, Anthony and Alaina.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1932, she was predeceased by her parents: John and Catherine Haney; her sister, Patricia (John) Doyle; and most recently her priest-brother, the Reverend John Robert Haney (Father Bob to family). Her remaining family are: Jane (Angelo) Collura, Kathleen (Joseph) Ray, and Michael K. (Carol) Haney of South Carolina, Illinois, and Maryland, respectively, and also nieces and nephews.
Educated in Catholic schools, she passed on her deep faith and Christian values and an abiding, deep Mother’s love to her children, who are living examples of her success, as are their families.
Donna will be greatly missed. Even though sad at her loss, her family celebrates her life at Mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, with visitation at Sauls Funeral Home, Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, S.C. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020.
