Dorothy Hughes Obituary

Dorothy D. Hughes, 86, of Beaufort, SC, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 24, 1933 to Verna and Earnest Lemaster in Pikeville, KY.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband David Hughes, sister Marie Hardy, and sons Steve and Rick McBrayer.

Dorothy retired from Motorola in Chicago, IL, and moved to SC in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie McGinnis (WV); brother Vernon (Diane) Lemaster (GA); grandchildren Stephen (Natalie) McBrayer (WV), Ryan (Megan) McBrayer (MD), Candice Ramirez (IL), Brianne, Christopher McBrayer (IL) and Amanda McGinnis (WV); special niece Patti (Wayne) Dolin (WV); three other nieces and two nephews; and five great-grandchildren.

Her wishes were to be cremated. Sauls Funeral Home, Bluffton, SC has been entrusted with the arrangements.
