Dorothy Ellen Womack Tate, 79, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Danville, VA passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2020 after a brief illness. Dorothy or “Dot” as she was known to most was born on October 3, 1941 in Danville, VA and spent most of her of her life there until relocating to Bluffton, SC in 2017. She was dedicated to her students and enjoyed preparing young minds for the future. It gave her such pleasure to see her students thriving as grown adults. Dot never met a stranger. She loved everyone and they loved her in return. She enjoyed being with her family and spending time at the beach. She will be greatly missed by her special lunch bunch with whom she shared years of laughter, funny stories and countless slices of pizza.
