Edgar Burnette Benton

E. Burnett Benton, age 77, of Hardeeville, passed away on December 27, 2019 at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC with his son, Michael by his side.

Mr. Benton was born on January 9, 1942 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Edgar B. Benton and Inez Fludd Benton. 

Mr. Benton was a United States Army veteran; a carpenter and homebuilder; an avid a deer hunter and most importantly, a Christian.

He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Hope Benton; son, Rodney Benton; his daughter, Cheryl Benton; his brother, Tommy Benton; and sister, Shirley Benton.  He is survived by his son, Michael B. Benton of Hardeeville; his brother, Larry Benton of Ridgeland; his sister, Mary Alice Benton of Ridgeland; grandchildren Michael Shane Benton (Elaine) of Hardeeville and Travis Benton of Hardeeville and great granddaughter, Isabella Benton of Hardeeville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2019 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 31, 2019 with burial to follow in the Indian Hill Cemetery, Bluffton, SC.
